Nar Phu Valley Trek 4530m

The Nar Phu Valley Trek is a remote and less-traveled trekking route in the Annapurna region of Nepal. Opened to foreign trekkers in 2003, this trek offers a rare opportunity to explore untouched Tibetan-influenced villages, ancient monasteries, and dramatic high-altitude landscapes in a restricted area near the border with Tibet.

Itinerary

Day 01

Arrive in Kathmandu
Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel. After settling in, you can relax or explore the lively streets of Thamel, where many trekking shops, cafés, and restaurants are located.

Day 02

Sightseeing in Kathmandu
Spend the day visiting some of Kathmandu Valley’s famous cultural and religious landmarks. This sightseeing tour offers insight into Nepal’s rich history, architecture, and spiritual traditions while preparing for the journey ahead.

Day 03

Drive to Besi Sahar (820m)
Begin the journey with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar, the traditional starting point of the Annapurna trekking region. The route follows winding mountain roads, rivers, and terraced hillsides.

Day 04

Trek to Khudi (790m)
Start the trek along the lower Annapurna Region, walking through lush hills, terraced farmland, and traditional villages before reaching Khudi.

Day 05

Trek to Bahundanda (1310m)
Today’s trail gradually climbs through beautiful countryside and small settlements. Passing waterfalls and terraced fields, you reach the hilltop village of Bahundanda with views of the surrounding valleys.

Day 06

Trek to Jagat (1290m)
Continue trekking along the Marsyangdi River valley, passing through forested trails and stone villages. The path includes a mix of ascents and descents before arriving at Jagat.

Day 07

Trek to Dharapani (1920m)
The trail climbs steadily through forests and villages as the landscape begins to change with increasing altitude. You reach Dharapani, an important junction on the Annapurna Circuit route.

Day 08

Trek to Nar Phu Valley First Camp (2740m)
Leave the main Annapurna Circuit trail and enter the remote Nar Phu Valley. The path becomes quieter and more rugged as you trek through narrow gorges and remote landscapes.

Day 09

Trek to Sinhenge Dharamsala (3230m)
The trail climbs deeper into Nar Phu Valley with dramatic scenery of cliffs, rocky trails, and remote settlements. Today’s walk takes you to Sinhenge Dharamsala, a peaceful stop surrounded by high mountains.

Day 10

Trek to Upper Chaku Village (3720m)
Continue trekking through high alpine terrain with views of snow-covered peaks and yak pastures. The trail leads to Upper Chaku, a small settlement that reflects the Tibetan-influenced culture of the region.

Day 11

Trek to Phu Village (3980m)
The route climbs steadily toward the historic village of Phu Village. This ancient settlement features traditional stone houses, monasteries, and stunning views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks.

Day 12

Rest Day in Phu Village
Spend a day exploring Phu Village and allowing your body to acclimatize. You may visit nearby monasteries, interact with local residents, and enjoy panoramic mountain views.

Day 13

Trek to Naar Campsite (3550m)
Leaving Phu behind, descend slightly before trekking toward Nar Village. The trail offers scenic views of rugged mountains and alpine valleys before reaching the campsite.

Day 14

Trek to Kang La Phedi (4530m)
Today’s trek climbs toward the base of Kang La Pass. The landscape becomes more dramatic and rugged as you approach higher altitudes.

Day 15

Trek to Munje (3330m)
Cross Kang La Pass early in the morning for breathtaking views of the Annapurna mountain range before descending toward Munje, where the trail reconnects with the Annapurna Circuit route.

Day 16

Trek to Manang (3520m)
Continue trekking through alpine landscapes toward Manang, a well-known Himalayan village surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery.

Day 17

Trek to Letdar (4250m)
Leaving Manang, the trail gradually climbs through high-altitude terrain. The scenery becomes more barren and dramatic as you approach Letdar.

Day 18

Trek to Thorung Phedi (4500m)
Today’s trek is relatively short but important for acclimatization. You walk steadily uphill to Thorong Phedi, the base camp before crossing the famous Thorong La Pass.

Day 19

Trek to Muktinath (3800m)
Early in the morning, cross the legendary Thorong La Pass, one of the highest trekking passes in the world. Descend afterward to Muktinath Temple, a revered pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists.

Day 20

Trek to Jomsom (2713m)
Descend through the dry landscapes of the Mustang region toward Jomsom, a windy valley town along the Kali Gandaki River.

Day 21

Flight to Kathmandu via Pokhara
Take a scenic flight from Jomsom to Pokhara, followed by a connecting flight to Kathmandu. Enjoy the rest of the day relaxing or exploring the city.

Day 22

Depart Kathmandu
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your international departure, concluding your unforgettable Nar Phu Valley and Annapurna adventure.
