Bardia National Park

Bardia National Park is the largest and protected national park of Nepal covering an area of 374 square miles. At the foot of the Siwalik Hills, the park is bordered by the Karnali River on its eastern side, while the Babai River flows through the national park. 

The area is well preserved by department of national park and wildlife conservations of Nepal, the main purpose being preservation of endangered or declining species. 

The park provides shelter to 125 species of fish, 23 species of reptiles and amphibians, 407 species of birds and 53 species of mammals.

Among the most common species that you will come across are one horned rhinoceros, monkeys, royal Bengal tigers, swamp deers, wild elephants, crocodiles, water buffalos, dolphins including several reptiles. The flora and fauna of the park are noted for their abundance and diversity. The nature lovers will be amazed at the number of species that exist in the park.

The vegetation in the park is noted for its fine range of aromatic foliage, a wide range of diverse flowers, shrubs, & trees noted for its diversity. The park also has earned the praise of many nature lovers because of its aesthetic appeal and ecological functions. It is a very good place for strolling and enjoying the beauty of nature.

Itinerary Details

Day 1 - Arrival in Kathmandu

Himalayan Trekkers representative will pick you up at the airport and then transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu. Accommodation: 3-star hotel in KTM The office representative will brief you about a trip to Bardia and answer your questions and queries if any.

Day 2 - Scenic Flight to Nepalgunj & Drive to Bardia

We take a morning flight to Nepalgunj and the jeep from the hotel will pick you up. On the way, we stop at Babai River to see the crocodiles and fish. Upon arrival at Bardiya, we will have lunch during which the naturalist will brief you on the day’s activity. In the afternoon you will visit the crocodile breeding center and the Tharu village. Night halt.

Day 3 - Jungle Activities

Today after breakfast we walk into the forest in search of Bengal tiger. The half-day walk in the forest provides an opportunity to encounter many wild animals including the Bengal tiger as Bardia is one of the best places for tiger spotting.

Day 4 - Continue Jungle Activities & Bardiya National Park Tour

Today you will experience the Elephant back ride, bird watching and canoe/boat ride and explore the Bardiya national park-only national park with Bengal tiger in Nepal. Overnight.

Day 5 - Drive Back to Nepalgunj & Fly Back to Kathmandu

We will have breakfast and depending upon your flight schedule, which is usually late afternoon we drive towards the Airport at Nepalgunj.
With a scenic return flight from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu, you will be taken for sightseeing of Pashupatinath & Boudhanath. In the evening, farewell dinner with the team of Himalayan Trekkers.

Day 6 - Departure
