Bardia National Park is the largest and protected national park of Nepal covering an area of 374 square miles. At the foot of the Siwalik Hills, the park is bordered by the Karnali River on its eastern side, while the Babai River flows through the national park.
The area is well preserved by department of national park and wildlife conservations of Nepal, the main purpose being preservation of endangered or declining species.
The park provides shelter to 125 species of fish, 23 species of reptiles and amphibians, 407 species of birds and 53 species of mammals.
Among the most common species that you will come across are one horned rhinoceros, monkeys, royal Bengal tigers, swamp deers, wild elephants, crocodiles, water buffalos, dolphins including several reptiles.
