Mount Kailash
This sacred pilgrimage to Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar is as ancient as creation itself. Thousands of sages, ordinary mortals, philosophers, and even gods have been enraptured by the divine grandeur of this sacred site. Mount Kailash, also known as Meru, Sumeru, or the Golden Mountain, is the center of creation and the universe. It is the self-created Swyambhu, the source from which everything emanates and ultimately returns. This is the abode of Lord Shiva and his divine consort Parvati.
At an elevation of 22,028 feet, Mount Kailash is a majestic, pyramid-shaped peak located in the picturesque region of western Tibet. From its summit, one can behold the landscapes of Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, and Nepal
Lake Mansarovar
Nestled between Mount Kailash and Mount Gurla Mandata lies the sacred Lake Mansarovar. Known as "Mapham Tso" or the "Unconquerable Lake" to Tibetans, it has its origins in the mind of Lord Brahma, created to demonstrate the omnipotence of Brahma's mind, 'Manas.'
The holy Lake Mansarovar, representing Buddhist transcendent consciousness, is another significant pilgrimage site for Tibetans.
