Kathmandu and Chitwan Jungle Eco-Tour

Kathmandu is Nepal’s vibrant capital, a cultural hub known for its ancient temples, bustling markets, and rich history. Kathmandu to Chitwan distance by road 5 hr 16 min (185.1 km) via Mahendra Hwy/AH2/H01.

Chitwan, on the other hand, is home to the iconic Chitwan National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a haven for diverse wildlife and nature enthusiasts. 

Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrive Kathmandu, Nepal

Meet on arrival in Kathmandu Airport and transfer to hotel.

Day 2 - Kathmandu, Swayambhu and Patan

Breakfast at hotel.
Depart to visit Kathmandu ancient palace, Swayambu Stupa and Patan ancient palace (three world heritage sites) and Tibetan Refugee Handicarfts Center. Lunch break en-route.
Return to hotel around 4:00PM.

Day 3 - Boudha Stupa, Pashupatinath and Bhaktapur

Breakfast at hotel and depart to visit three more world heritage sites,
Bouddha stupa, largest Buddhist stupa of Nepal, Pashupatinath temple, the Holiest place for the Hindus, and Bhaktapur – The city of Devotees. All of the above are cultural world heritage sites recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Lunch break is in Bhaktapur.
Afternoon, transfer back to your hotel.

Day 4 - Kathmandu to Chitwan Jungle National ParkJungle

Early morning breakfast, check out and drive to Chitwan Jungle National Park. Arrive at the camp, be greeted with refreshments, briefing by naturalist guide about the programs and the facility.
13:00PM Lunch at the central dining restaurant,
15:00PM A talk on the elephants by our naturalist at the elephant stable.
16:00PM Jungle safari on elephant back. An excellent opportunity to see four different kinds of deer, rhinoceros, wild boar, leopard, monkeys, birds and many other smaller animals.
18:30PM Talk on the natural history, flora & fauna of the national park.
19:30PM Dinner.
Overnight at the resort.

Day 5 - Jungle Safari

06:00AM Wake up call. Tea/Coffee. Nature walk: An excellent opportunity to be familiar with the diverse vegetation of the park and to see a great many of those over 500 different species of birds which have made Chitwan their home.
07:30AM Breakfast.
08:30AM Dugout canoe ride along with Dungre/Rapti river. An excellent opportunity for bird watching and to see the 2 rare species of crocodile; the marsh mugger and the fish eating gharial. Half an hour walk through the jungle to The Elephant Breeding Farm. Drive back to the Lodge.
13:00PM Lunch.
15:30PM Village walk. A conducted visit to the nearby Tharu village.
17:30PM Walk/drive back to the Lodge.
18:30PM Tharu Tribal Dance presented by the local Tharu villagers.
19:30PM A typical Nepalese Buffet Dinner.

Day 6 - Jungle Safari and Transfer to Kathmandu

06:00AM Wake up call. Tea/Coffee. Elephant Safari/Nature Walk or at Leisure
07:30AM Breakfast.
09:00AM Departure for Kathmandu. On arrival, check in and at leisure.

Day 7 - Departure from Kathmandu

Breakfast at hotel and transfer to airport for your flight.
End of tour service.
