Lhakpa Ri Expedition 7045m

Lhakpa Ri Mountain is the newly becoming famous expedition in Tibet; and many climbers have been attracted these days to this mountain climbing through Tibet side. It divides the upper east Rombuk and Kharta glacier. It is very closed to Mount Everest and one feels as equal to climbed Mount Everest the moment, one reaches on the top of this mountain.

Bill Tilman made the second ascent during his Everest reconnaissance in 1936. The Third ascent made by French Everest Summiteers Michelle Pelle in 1988. The Fourth ascent by Ken McConnell in 1991. The present expedition teams are also using these same routes as the previous four expedition teams had used in the past.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu
Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel. Expedition briefing and introduction to the climbing team.

Day 2

Preparation in Kathmandu
Full day for expedition preparation, gear checking, documentation, and final shopping. Our team arranges permits and logistics for Tibet travel.

Day 3

Kathmandu
Final packing and official formalities before departure toward the border.

Day 4

Drive to Kodari, Cross Border to Zhangmu
Scenic drive along the Arniko Highway to Kodari. After completing immigration formalities, cross the Nepal–Tibet border and continue to Zhangmu in China (Tibet Autonomous Region).

Day 5

Zhangmu to Nyalam
Drive upward through dramatic gorges and changing landscapes to Nyalam, gaining altitude gradually.

Day 6

Nyalam to Tingri
Continue across the vast Tibetan plateau toward Tingri, enjoying distant views of Himalayan peaks.

Day 7

Acclimatization in Tingri
Rest day for acclimatization. Short hikes around Tingri help adjust to higher altitude conditions.

Day 8

Tingri to Lhakpa Ri Base Camp
Drive and trek to Lhakpa Ri Base Camp, located near the northern side of the Everest region.

Day 9

Base Camp Rest
Acclimatization and preparation day at Base Camp beneath Lhakpa Ri.

Day 10

Base Camp to Middle Camp
Ascend gradually over glacial terrain to establish Middle Camp.

Day 11

Middle Camp to Advanced Base Camp (ABC)
Climb further to Advanced Base Camp, preparing for summit rotations.

Day 12-23

Climbing Period
Acclimatization rotations between camps and summit push depending on weather conditions. The route involves glacier travel, snow slopes, and high-altitude endurance climbing.

Day 24

Prepare for Return
Dismantle camps and organize logistics for the return journey.

Day 25

Base Camp to Tingri
Return to Tingri by vehicle after leaving Base Camp.

Day 26

Tingri to Shegar or Nyalam
Drive across the plateau toward Shegar or Nyalam.

Day 27

Shegar to Shigatse to Zhangmu
Continue through Shigatse, one of Tibet’s major cities, and onward toward Zhangmu.

Day 28

Shigatse to Gyantse
Travel to Gyantse, known for its historic monastery and fort.

Day 29

Lhasa to Kathmandu (Overland Return)
Begin return journey toward Kathmandu via border crossing and transfer to hotel.

Day 30

Lhasa Exploration
Sightseeing and cultural exploration in Lhasa, including major monasteries and landmarks.

Day 31

Lhasa Exploration
Sightseeing and cultural exploration in Lhasa, including major monasteries and landmarks.

Day 32

Flight to Kathmandu
Fly from Lhasa to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Day 33 - 34

Kathmandu
Free days for rest, contingency, or sightseeing.

Day 35

Final Departure
Transfer to the international airport for your onward journey.
